New Year At The Minster.

I went to see in 2014 at York Minster tonight.  I am hoping 2014 is going to be the year everything goes York People First's way as York's only Self Advocacy Group.

I had a great day today.   Saw everyone from Sunderland.   Had a great meal with them and a great tea and a great catch up.  I got a great present.  A ticket to go to a Sunderland home match of my choice in the new year.

I had a great relax this morning before going for a walk around York this afternoon.  There was no bus services in the City with only the Park & Ride running due to boxing day.

After meeting for a drink at the Lowther Pub I went for a Office meal at Plonkers where I had turkey followed by Christmas pudding then walked to the Staff Party at 1331 Bar and Restaurant.

I had a buffet lunch in Heworth before going to see Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs at the Grand Opera House York and Aladdin and the Twankeys starring Berwick Kaler at the Theatre Royal York.   I really enjoyed both of them.

I went to the Avalark Christmas Ball at The Golden Lion Hotel in Northallerton tonight.   I did some dancing, networked with people and had a buffet.   It was a great night.

The Cedar Court Hotel Is York's 5 star Hotel with great caring staff.   York People First were given a great welcome from the staff at the Hotel who gave the group great customer service.  After the meal I went to Gateway Club tonight.

I went to the Cedar Court Hotel today with York People First for a Christmas meal.  For starter I had soup followed by turkey, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes and stuffing with vegetables followed by Christmas pudding and then tea and little chocolates.

I was very very busy at the University of York today helping Staff and Students then I helped sell programmes at the first night of the performances called Giving Up The Ghost the story of the Grey Lady at the Upstage Centre 41 Monkgate York.

I had a great day today at York People First. I helped them with the fundraiser at St Crux Church on Stonebow just past Marks and Spencer. I helped clear tables and make sure customers were all right.  York People First run the fundraiser at St Crux Church every year which helps them to raise money to help the group run in the future.

Visit To Doncaster.

I went to visit Doncaster Robin Hood Airport and Doncaster on the train today. I travelled from York to Doncaster on East Coast trains and back on cross country trains. Doncaster Robin Hood Airport is not very busy during the winter. Doncaster has a bus Interchange and a Shopping Centre which York does not have.  Trains both ways were on time.

The Kitchen At Alcuin Cafe.

I visited a great Cafe called The Kitchen At Alcuin at the University of York today. The Cafe sells hot and cold drinks, bacon sandwiches, sausage sandwiches, pastries and cakes. It is well worth trying next time you are at the University of York.

I went to York People First today. I helped them with the group discussion, write Christmas Cards, plan for our job at the University of York on Thursday 5 December 2013, update Facebook and plan for next week.  I also went for another visit to the Enterprise Cafe.

I had a great relax watching TV this morning before going for a walk to the Co Op this afternoon after having the afternoon off due to the Hospital where I work being closed this afternoon. I then hoovered my floors tonight after having Lasagne and garlic bread for tea tonight made by my housemate.

I went to see York City v Plymouth Argyle this afternoon after having fish and chips with mushy peas for lunch at Wackers.   York City took the lead thorough a great header from Bowman but Plymouth Argyle got an equaliser through Tope Obadeyi to make the full time score York City 1-1 Plymouth Argyle.

Visited a great Cafe called The Enterprise Cafe today at the ECO Centre Clifton Moor. Just opened this week. Well worth a visit for drinks and snacks from a full cooked breakfast to Bacon, sausage or egg sandwiches and cakes.

Giving Up The Ghost The story of the Grey Lady.

I went to the Upstage Centre 41 Monkgate York today to check the progress of the play Giving Up The Ghost the story of the Grey Lady before the performance weekend of the 29th and 30th November 2013 and progress has been made to make the play a great success for when it is performed in  three weeks time.  Tickets are now on sale at York Theatre Royal but selling fast.

A Very Good B&B In France.

I had a lovely few days with Cheryl at her B&B in France.  It was really welcoming and they lit the wood burner in the guest's lounge as the weather was really rainy.  Cheryl made me my favourite meal of fish, chips and mushy peas and warmed my milk up for my breakfast.

After a overnight crossing back to Portsmouth I travelled from Portsmouth to York stopping at Northampton before going for a meal.

I went to the supermarket in Lassay before going back to the house and met some next door neighbours.  Then it was on to Ouisterham for tea then waiting for the arrival of the Brittany Ferries Mont St Michel to arrive from Portsmouth ready to return to England.

I had a great nights sleep at the Great B&B called La Cloue Chambres d'Hote.   There is no rain today. 

The Roads In Normandy.

The roads in Normandy France are better than the roads in the UK. The traffic is allowed to flow in the towns and cities in France as there is less traffic lights which allows the traffic to flow.

The Weather In France.

The first day when we arrived it was very sunny but the past two days it has been very cloudy with rain and drizzle.

A Very Good Stay At The B&B.

We have been well looked after at the La Cloue Chambres d'Hote BB  over the three nights we have been in France.   Great food, great beds to sleep in,  great rooms,  great facilities and friendly and helpful people.

I went to the Supermarket in Lassay then went to the house.  I helped my parents with things in the house.   There has been rain today and yesterday.

I am really enjoying my time in Normandy France.   Been to Domfront, Vire, Lassay,  Lonlay l'Abbaye and a house.  We are being well looked after at a B&B called La Cloue Chambres d'Hote.

After a very good crossing on Brittany Ferries ferry Mont St Michel last night I went to visit Vire and  Domfront and visited a house.  I then checked in to a B&B called La Cloue for a three night stay.

The Mont St Michel came into Portsmouth on time from its afternoon crossing from Caen.

On the night of Tuesday 29 October 2013 I left Portsmouth on the Mont st Michel 22:45 departure.   The Ferry was on time.

I travelled down from York to Portsmouth this afternoon with a stop at Northampton ready for my trip to Normandy France.   All the motorway were fine.

Improved Garden.

A Garden Makeover.

On Thursday 17 October 2013 my garden got a makeover from being largely overgrown to being clear thanks to the help of Brunswick Organic Nursery which is a Nursery in Bishopthorpe which provides people with learning disabilities a chance to gain skills in cooking, gardening and craft making.  They came yesterday and managed to get all the garden clear in just one day.  A big thank you must go to everyone at Brunswick for all their hard work.  

A 1 Hour Trip Home

It took 1 hour to get from Clifton Moor to Dringhouses this evening as there was a lot of traffic between Clifton Moor and York City Centre and around the Station.  You can get from York to Newcastle on the train in the same time as it takes on the bus between Dringhouses and Clifton Moor.

I had a relax this morning before going to work at St Helens Hospital this afternoon. I have been working at St Helens Hospital since April 2010 where I go to chat to the patients, staff and visitors.  I really enjoy working there.

On Sunday 13 October 2013 I went for a walk to my local Co-Op.  The weather was cloudy and cold with drizzle.   The trees are going brown as it is Autumn.

I have been in very different weather conditions today. - Drizzle,  Mist,  Fog, Cloud and Sun.   It was very misty and foggy on the Pennines today. 

A Trip On The Transpennine Line

I went for a ride on the train on the Transpennine Line from York to Manchester today which goes through Leeds-Dewsbury-Huddersfield-Stalybridge and Manchester with great views of the Pennines and the line goes through  long tunnels.  Both trains were on time.  I visited a Shop during my day in Manchester.

The person goes stiff, loses consciousness, falls to the floor and begins to jerk or convulse. They may look a little blue around their mouth from irregular breathing. Tonic-clonic seizures can last a few minutes.

Remember ACTION for tonic-clonic seizures:

A	Assess Assess the situation – are they in danger of injuring themselves? Remove any nearby objects that could cause injury
C	CushionCushion their head (with a jumper, for example) to protect them from head injury
T	Time Check the time – if the seizure lasts longer than five minutes you should call an ambulance
I	IdentityLook for a medical bracelet or ID card – it may give you information about the person’s seizures and what to do
O	OverOnce the seizure is over, put them on their side (in the recovery position). Stay with them and reassure them as they come round
N	NeverNever restrain the person, put something in their mouth or try to give them food or drink

Call an ambulance if:

• You know it is a person’s first seizure, or
• The seizure lasts for more than five minutes, or
• One seizure appears to follow another without the person gaining consciousness in between, or
• The person is injured, or
• You believe the person needs urgent medical attention

Changed My Bedding Tonight.

Me and my support made my bed tonight to make it fresh for me to sleep in. 

Tuna Pasta Bake For Tea Tonight.

I cooked tuna pasta bake and garlic bread for tea tonight. I did well with the cooking.

A Fantastic Day At York People First.

I went to York People First today. I updated Facebook and Twitter.

A Great Day Today.

I had a relax today before going to work at St Helens Hospital after going to get some tickets for York People First at the Station.  I then cooked tea before hoovering my floors.

Made Sausages Tonight.

I made sausages,  vegetables and mash Potatoes for tea tonight.  I did very well with the cooking and did it all by myself.  

A Great Day Today At York People First.

I had a great day today at York People First. I helped them to do some filing, answering the telephone and had a meeting.   I then went to see York City v Rotherham United.

My Monday Kitchen Clean.

Every Monday I do the weekly kitchen clean.   This is my kitchen after my clean on Monday 7 October 2013.

A Great Relaxing Day.

I had a great relaxing day today and went to the Longboat for Sunday lunch where I had Pork.

York Needs A Bus Interchange.

When I went to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster I went on the number 91 bus to Brandon which departed from the Bus Interchange right next door to Doncaster Railway Station.  There was live screens,  A Information Booth and Stands for all buses.  I think York needs a Bus Interchange like Doncaster where all the buses go to.
