Skills for Care Presentation by Michael Scott.

I was asked if I would like to do a presentation about my support I get by Avalon by Skills for Care which I accepted.  The Conference was held at York Racecourse on Wednesday 5 June 2013.  After preparing my speech I left for the Racecourse at 10:00am and arrived at 10:15am where I signed in and got shown where I was going to do my speech. 

 

At 10:30am the main person started to do her talk after the opening speech.  I did my presentation at 11:15am.  I talked about how much support I get with Avalon, things I have learnt while I have had support, how much support I get and things I would not be able to do without support plus how I can contact my support myself.  I told everyone I was going on a cruise with Avalon Freedom the day after which resulted in everyone asking me about my cruise for the rest of the day plus I told everyone about my plans to set up a Avalon group for York Customers.  

When I had finished everyone clapped me and said how well I had done also Skills for Care said a big thank you to me.  I was invited to stay for the rest of the afternoon where I joined in with the workshops and had lunch with everyone.  I really enjoyed my day and met lots of people from all over the region.  The next day I set off for my cruise with Avalon Freedom and had a great time.
